Verizon is sending out the latest Android security update patches to the Google Pixel series of phones.
The list includes the most recently released Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL phones and four models of 2018/19 namely the Google Pixel 3, 3 XL and 3a and 3a XL. The previous year’s Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL are also included for the updates.
The updates dated 11/04/2019 go OTA to all those phones of these models that Verizon administers. The software version in each case is given here. If you were to be in any doubt, you can check through the normal way of going to the Settings page and checking out the software version on your device. A manual download option is also available.
Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL:
This is the first update Verizon is sending out to these two devices. These are barely a few weeks old and the first update brings the latest security patch updates dated November 1, 2019 to both these phones.
Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL:
The Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL were released earlier this year as budget phones with lower prices than the main Pixel 3 and 3 XL, primarily to address the affordability issue. Google wanted to expand its presence in the market and these slightly watered-down models are receiving their system update No. 7 from Verizon. In this update, there is only the latest November Android security update patch.
Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL:
The updates to the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are the 14th system update being sent out by Verizon since they were launched. The Android security patch dated November 1, 2019 is being sent in this update.
Google Pixel 2 & 2 XL:
These two 2017 smartphones from Google, the Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL, are receiving their 25th system update from Verizon. This update pack contains the latest November security update patches from Android as received by Verizon.
