Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, S9/S9+, Galaxy S10 5G, Note 9, Moto Z4, Moto G6 and Nokia 3V Get Security Patch Updates

Its software update time again at Verizon and the devices being sent the updates over the air include Samsung and Motorola in addition to a lone Nokia model. These are mostly latest security patches of the OS, except in some cases, where a few issues have been addressed and performance enhancements have been included as well.

Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus

Verizon is sending the latest August security patches issued by Android for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. There are no other changes proposed in this particular update. Its system update No. 27 for both these devices.

Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus

The 15th system updates for these 2018 release Samsung flagships from Verizon also cover only the latest August Android security patches and nothing else.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G

The first 5G phone from Samsung in the S series flagship range released this April is being given the third system update No.3 by Verizon. Like the other Samsung devices above, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G too gets the latest Android security patch released on August 1.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

This Note series flagship of last year from the South Korean company is being updated by Verizon for the 11th time after its release. The same August 1 security update patch forms the sole content in this security update.

Nokia 3V

This Nokia device has just joined the Verizon ranks and this is the first update being sent to the device owners by the carrier and has some performance improvement updates besides the July security patch from Android.

Motorola Moto Z4 and Moto G6

The Motorola Moto Z4 receives its first system update from Verizon and a couple of issues reported on the device have been addressed. One relates to the Wi-Fi connectivity issue and the other is making improvements in the fingerprint sensor’s performance. The latest August security patch from Android too is included in this update.

The update sent to the Moto G6 smartphone fixes issues of lags in the phone reported by the users. These lags were felt while scrolling and typing. This stands removed and the latest Android security patch is also included.
