The developers are really busy introducing all those important features on bye one.

The latest version of WhatsApp on iOS that you could download is 2.17.2 which is now officially available in the App Store and has all the features that were listed in the past. In case, you have already received the vCard of a contact and they send you a message, the app will notify you that it can save them as a contact if you like to. The information will be retrieved from the existing vCard.

The iOS version which is yet to be out in the app store has a brand new status alert. The function however is disabled by default and you have to manually enable it. WhatsApp on iOS allows you to set status photos or videos which will automatically disappear in 24 hours. The concept is very similar to Snapchat but when things are good and users love it, developers don’t hesitate to just copy it and bring it to their own app.

Maintaining and keeping track of storage space especially for WhatsApp messages is a lot of work. The team has simplified it with a new user interface that shows the space occupied by your files. It categorizes them into photos, videos, documents, GIFs, and voice messages. Any new photos saved in WhatsApp iOS version will now be saved in a new folder in your camera roll. It makes it easier to sort them and delete them if you like to free up space. And, when the app crashes it automatically pops up a window to send crash log to developers so that they could fix it in the next update.

An equally long list of updates for WhatsApp Beta Android 2.17.36 is about to be introduced. Users will now be forward messages to other friends. A forward button which you may have found right next to many messages and pictures has now been added to voice messages as well. When there are new status that you should check out, the WhatsApp user interface indicates them with a new small icon. It should probably help users to see statuses that are about to be deleted in 24 hours or whenever new status messages are posted. We are not sure how exactly it works which should be clarified in a future update from the developers.

WhatsApp Beta Track Live Location

Apart from these improvements and new features, WhatsApp for Android is also set to get a stable update to make the app perform well without crashing issues. The iOS and Android versions will receive a feature that will allow you to track current location of participants in a group. It makes it easy to organize group meets and events, reports WABetaInfo on the Twitter channel. More such updates and better clarification on available features are expected when the next Android version is set to be launched at the Google Play Store.
