ASUS ROG Phone (ZS600KL) Geekbench Listing Confirms Android 9 Pie Update is Coming Soon

ASUS ROG Phone with model number ASUS_Z01QD has appeared on Geekbench with the latest Android 9 Pie OS.

The Taiwanese company is yet to confirm on when it will be releasing the Android 9 update for the gaming-focused ROG phone. However, the Geekbench listing of the handset with Android 9 Pie suggests that that the company could be internally testing the software update for it and it could be made available soon.

The ASUS_Z01QD model that has been spotted on Geekbench with Android 9 is the ROG Phone that was announced in June last year. The Snapdragon 845 chipset and 8 GB RAM powered handset has scored 2403 and 8889 points respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench. The new listing suggests that the ROG Phone may receive the Android upgrade within the first quarter of the year. Hopefully, the company will release an official statement on the arrival of the update.

The ASUS ROG Phone features a 6-inch 90 GHz AMOLED display that supports FHD resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It features 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera setup and a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. It receives power from 4,000 mAh battery with 20W rapid charging. The handset is equipped with ultrasonic sensors embedded gaming buttons on the edge of the phone for impressive gaming experience.

Asus Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z Have Already Received Pie Update

As far as Android 9 Pie update for other Asus phones are concerned, the Taiwanese company has recently rolled out the latest version of Android for ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 smartphones. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 handset is expected to receive the Pie update in this month.

In February, the Android 9 Pie update will be released for the ZenFone Max Pro M1 smartphone. Among the ZenFone 4 series from last year, ASUS will be releasing the latest edition of Android to the users of ZenFone 4 Pro handset.
