Xbox Game Studios’ Crackdown was initially released in 2007 on Xbox 360 and back then, it received a very good response from the gamers.
Crackdown 2, which was launched in 2010, could not live up to the kind of expectations fans had from it. Though the studio tried to revive the franchise with Crackdown 3, it didn’t exactly get a thunderous response.
Now, it seems that the gaming publisher could come out with Crackdown 4 to woo gamers. There are rumors about the Xbox Game Studios working towards developing a new game. What’s interesting is that the studio has roped in the development team of Crackdown 3 for this project.

As per a report published in Tech 4 Gamers, James Goddard, Dave McGrate and Mark Simon, who have been associated with Xbox Game Studios for a very long time, had joined hands for an unannounced project couple of years back. Mark Simon served as a Design Director for Crackdown 3 and ReCore and has been a part of the project since the year 2017. As a Design Director, James Goddard worked on Crackdown 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome. Dave McGrate was credited as a Senior Producer on Crackdown 3.
Till now, Xbox Game Studios has not shared any information on the game that the trio seems to be developing together. The possibility of a Crackdown 4 arriving is very high as this is the same team that collaborated on Crackdown 3. Even if the unannounced game does not turn out to be Crackdown 4, it should have the essence of a Crackdown game.

Despite no official confirmation being released by the studio, it would not be unreasonable for fans to look forward to an open-world action-adventure game. A game featuring a destructible cityscape, like the kind we have witnessed in the Crackdown series, should make fans happy.
