Fortnite Championship Series Confirms The Rearrival Of In-Person Competition

The video game industry got affected by the Covid-19 situation in different ways.

The e-sports space, in particular, went through a lot of struggle. However, things have finally begun to look up for the gaming industry. With the Covid-19 numbers seeing a gradual drop and vaccines being available very easily, in-person events are slowly making a comeback.

Major e-sport organizer Epic Games is taking a lot of important initiatives to make in-person events relevant again. The much popular Fortnite Championship Series Invitation will be returning in the form of an in-person tournament in the month of November.

The official announcement kickstarts with the phrase “Fortnite in-person events are back!”. Epic has confirmed that the FNCS Invitation’s 2022 edition shall be organized in Raleigh, North California as an in-person event. The event will be spread across two days, November 12 and November 13.

Not much is known about the Fortnite Championship tournament at the moment. However, what one known for sure is that players from different countries will be sent invitations to participate in the tournament. Fans are also expected to attend this event, but there is no confirmation on it yet.

Epic Games has made it clear that it prioritizes the health and safety of the players over everything else. The security arrangement made for this tournament will be far more elaborate than the arrangements made for the in-person events organized in the past. The gaming publisher has also asserted that if the public health trends change and they foresee a difficult situation ahead, they could reschedule the FNCS Invitational 2022.

The company will also be taking recommendations from the authorities and legal requirements very seriously while organizing the event. Epic Games has also requested individuals, who plan to attend the event, to get their vaccination cards and all the travel-related documents ready in advance.

Fortnite fans can expect a lot of interesting things to unfold during the event. Epic Games will be sending out invitations to many popular Fortnite duo squads to attend the FNCS Invitational 2022. These squads will be competing against each other for different rewards that are a part of a prize pool worth $1,000,000. In the next couple of months, the company will share all the relevant information pertaining to things players need to do to secure an invitation and the potential prizes that will be up for grabs.
