Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be yet again among the top smartphones this 2017, just like it happened with Samsung Galaxy S7 back in 2016.
The South Korean tech giant is rumored to be working on wholesale changes on the design of this flagship. Recent images of the phone appeared showing that there won’t be a dual-lens camera setup on the back of the phone like some rumors have been suggesting.
In another set of leaked images, Samsung Galaxy S8 is seen without a physical home button, but the bottom bezel is still present. What this removal of the home button means is that the Galaxy S8 will have a larger screen size that is also curved on two sides.
The leaks also point out to some similarities to the dead Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Like it was expected, not just some design aspects, but also some internals of the Galaxy Note 7 will be making their way to the Galaxy S8. As per the new images, the Galaxy S8 has an almost similar rear as the Note 7, especially when looking at the positioning of the camera and the sensor.
Strange enough, the new leak eliminates the rear-facing fingerprint scanner that appeared in a recent leak. Since Samsung Galaxy S8 will be getting rid of the physical home button, it was rumored that the feature will now appear at the back of the phone, just below the rear snapper. However, the new leak says otherwise, claiming that the scanner will live on the display screen. This is not the first time such a rumor has come out regarding the placement of the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S8. Furthermore, the leak adds that the Note 7’s iris scanner will also be used on the S8.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly come with a Plus version. Where the former will keep the 5-inch screen size, it is said that the larger S8 Plus will come with a 6-inch display panel. There is also talk of an 8GB RAM for the Galaxy S8, but this is highly unlikely, especially since the company just launched its first 6GB RAM phone recently – the Galaxy C9 Pro.
Be warned that this is just a rumor and not a confirmation from Samsung. Take it with a grain of salt, but with Samsung Galaxy S8 launch date just around the corner, expect to see more of these leaks coming in more frequently than before.
