Sony has started sending invites for the MWC 2017 event, probably to announce its Xperia Flagship device.

The event will be held on the 27th of February at Barcelona this year at 8.30 am CET. Though there is no news regarding the devices that Sony is planning to launch at the event, there are some leaks regarding what we can expect at the MWC 2017 event.

5 New Smartphones

The new leak suggests that Sony will be announcing five new smartphones in the Xperia lineup. This will also include a flagship smartphone that is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Some codenames have been mentioned along with a few technical specs of the devices to be announced at the MWC event.

Sony Xperia ‘Yoshino’

This is the name of the flagship Sony Xperia device to be announced at the event. According to the leaks, the Sony Xperia flagship device, codenamed Yoshino, will come with a 4K screen display of 5.5 inches. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 835 and this will be combined with a RAM of 4 GB and another variant of 6 GB RAM. The camera sensor is a new one of IMX400 for the rear camera.

Snapdragon 835 Chipset

Currently, it is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first device that will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The LG G6 was earlier supposed to be powered by the same chipset, but now it seems that it will come with the SD 821 and not the Snapdragon 835, due to the latter not being available. If the leak about the chipset for the upcoming Sony Xperia flagship device is true, the non-availability problem seems to have been dealt with.

Four Other Devices

Sony Xperia BlancBright will come with a 5 inches WQHD display. The Snapdragon 653 processor will power the device, combined with a RAM of 4 GB with an IMX400 sensor for the camera.

The Sony Xperia Keyaki will come with a FHD screen display of 5.2 inches, with the Mediatek Helio, P 20 processor powering it. It will be combined with a RAM of 4 GB and an internal storage of 64 GB. The rear camera comes with a resolution of 23 MP and the front camera for selfies has a resolution of 16 MP.

The 3rd device from Sony is the Xperia Ninoki, which has a display screen of 5 inches and is also powered by the same Mediatek Chipset as the Keyaki mentioned above. The RAM is 3 GB and the internal storage of the smartphone is 32 GB. The rear camera comes at 16 MP and the front camera is an 8 MP one.

The 4th device to be announced by Sony is the Xperia Mineo. However, there is not much known about the specs of this smartphone, though it is rumored to come at a price of $350.

All the above details regarding the price and the technical specifications about the four devices that Sony is supposed to announce at the MWC Barcelona 2017, must be taken with a pinch of salt, as they are only rumors at present.
