Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ and the LG Stylo 2V devices are being sent their latest software updates by US carrier Verizon.
[Update: 22 Nov 2019]: The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones in the US have also received their November security patch updates from Sprint. The build number is CSJ7 and the date of update is November 18, as is the case with T-Mobile.
[Original: 21 Nov 2019]:
The two Samsung devices had earlier received similar updates from the other US carrier T-Mobile. These update patches by and large cover the Android security patches received from Google and hardly anything else.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+
Verizon is pushing its 17th system update for these two Samsung devices and the update page notes that there are a few system enhancements apart from the Android security update patch of November 2019 for the smartphones. There had been reports earlier that the Samsung Galaxy S9 is one of the devices affected by a bug detected in the Android OS. It is presumed that Google would have addressed that issue in this update patch. As indicated above, these two phones under T-Mobile’s administration have also received the November security patch updates already.
The users of both Samsung Galaxy S9 and its higher variant, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ would be wondering when they would receive the latest Android 10 and Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on their phones. There is no official confirmation on this yet. However, it appears the South Korean company is releasing the upgrades to these two devices in its home country even as you read this news.
The report says while this may be true for the users in South Korea where the smartphones have been released with the Exynos chipsets, the US users with the Qualcomm SoCs may have to wait longer. Once the beta version is developed, the company may decide to send the upgrades to all users around the world. Wait for the good news.
LG Stylo V2
This 13th system update from Verizon for the LG Stylo V2 has the October 1, 2019 Android security update patch which is the latest for this device and nothing else other than this.
