Grand Theft Auto 5 was released way back in 2013. In the last nine years, the popularity of the game has grown significantly.
Last month, Rockstar Games re-released the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X I S users. The remastered version of the game enabled the players to experience it in 60FPS and 4K resolution. All these tactics employed by Rockstar Games have ensured that GTA 5 will not see a dip in its popularity anytime soon.
As per the official PlayStation Blog, the remastered version of GTA 5, which was released in March, has been received very well by fans. In the United States, it was the fourth most downloaded game of the month. It emerged as the second most downloaded game in the month of March in Europe. In many countries, it raced past the sales of popular games like Elden Ring.
Grand Theft Auto V was the second most downloaded title in the EU on PlayStation 5, topping Elden Ring in March 2022.

Till the month of June, GTA Online will be available to be played for free for PS5 players. While the ever-growing popularity of GTA 5 is good news for the fans of this particular edition, the ones who are eagerly waiting for GTA 6 are worried that its release might get pushed because of the former. Many fans believe that the success of GTA 5 will prove to be a good reason for Rockstar Games to delay the release of GTA 6.

On the other hand, there is a section of fans that believes that the massive success achieved by GTA 5 will actually help GTA 6 in several ways. A large number of fans are of the opinion that the popularity of GTA 5 will compel Rockstar Games to work harder and ensure that GTA 6 turns out to be better and bigger than any of the GTA games released in the past.
