The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will probably hit the stands in a couple of months, and some latest details of specs have emerged recently.
It is likely that Xiaomi will be releasing several smartphones and other devices during the next few months. The Mi 6 is a much-awaited smartphone, powered by the Snapdragon 835, and expected any time now. The second generation Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is another smartphone likely to be launched in the first half of this year.
2nd Gen Mi Max
The Mi Max was released in the year 2016 and at present it is not on the shelf in the Xiaomi Mall. It is expected that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will replace the Mi Max of 2016. It will probably launch this month, with Lei Jun, the CEO, confirming the release in an event held in China. However, there is plenty of confusion regarding the smartphone, with speculations about whether or not it will launch with the Snapdragon 626 processor.
Change in Processor
According to the latest details available, the Snapdragon 660 will not be powering the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 2, whereas earlier rumors were based on the sighting of the phone in some benchmarks. Instead, it is now rumored that the Max 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset and the not the Snapdragon 660. The Snapdragon 626 processor is the latest one to succeed the Snapdragon 625 and it offers an enhancement of 10% as far as performance is concerned, when compared with the Snapdragon 625. The latest Snapdragon 626 also offers support for dual camera setup and continues to have all the other qualities present in the Snapdragon 625, as far as the battery and the power benefits are concerned.
It is also reported that the camera on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will receive a major upgrade. The tips claim that the camera will continue with the setup seen on the Mi 5S. This means that the Mi Max 2 will come with the Sony IMX 378, Sony sensor. However, the aperture will be bigger so it will enhance the effect of the camera. As for the front camera, the selfie camera will come with a sensor of 5 MP.
Earlier, there were rumors that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 would come with a 6.44 inches of screen display and offer a screen resolution of 1080 pixels. It has been tipped that the Max 2 will run on the latest Android version, Nougat, 7.1.1 along with the overlay of MIUI 8. The battery capacity will see an upgrade and the device will probably come with a capacity of 5000 mAh. According to other rumors regarding the processor, a RAM of 6 GB and 4 GB in case of standard versions of the device will back the Snapdragon processor.
As for the price of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, the latest rumors hint at a price somewhere from 1499 yuan to 1699 yuan. However, none of these details can actually be confirmed till the company officially announces the next generation Xiaomi Mi Max 2.
